A bit about me

Greetings! I'm Candace, a Nevada native, who has a deep appreciation for the complexity of the human cognitive system and our world.

My education started at the University of Nevada, Reno where I received my B.S. in Neuroscience. Here, I worked with Marian Berryhill studying working memory. I then migrated west to work on my PhD at UC Davis where I studied eye movements and scene perception with John Henderson. I recently finished a research internship at Facebook Reality Labs where I modeled gaze and human computer interaction in virtual reality. I am currently a post-doc with Sidney D'Mello in which I model gaze dynamics during reading comprehension. To learn more about my research endeavors, see my CV here.

Besides the fun work I do trying to understand how humans interact with the world and technology, I also enjoy the beauty of art and nature.
